(Referencing the greatest breakdancing film of the 1980s there.)
On Monday night we had another awesome candy sushi program with even more exciting results than the last time.
Here was my shopping list:
Base/rice
- Twinkies or pound cake
- Marshmallows
- Rice Krispie Treats (at least 1 pack per kid)
Insides/fishy parts
- Swedish Fish
- Gummies
- Sour Patch
- Jelly beans
- Gummy berries
- Goldfish cookie crackers
Outsides
- Rainbow fruit stripe
- Fruit roll ups/fruit by the foot
Decorations
- Sprinkles for roe (orange would be good)
- Green Icing (wasabi)
I also go full on detail with Japanese take-out containers, chopsticks and garnishes you’d find at an Asian restaurant. Supplies bought here:http://www.buy4asianlife.com
Okay now the fun stuff, the results!
I asked the teens to name their creations like special rolls you would find on a sushi menu and we voted on the most creative and most realistic creations. Most creative went to Puppy Love:
and most realistic went to Yummy Gummy:
Thanks to everyone who participated!
