We all have our favorite bedtime stories from when we were young, and on Friday, July 20, we had the chance to share (or re-live) these classics with teens and children alike. We had around 40 kids and teens come to the library in their pajamas for a fun-filled afternoon celebrating favorite bedtime stories.
I had everyone come in and sit down and we read Goodnight Moon together. I told them to listen really well, because we’d have an activity later and they’d need to remember what they heard.
I took everyone on a tour of the room and showed them the stations we had set up:
The Very Hungry Caterpillar table with a clothespin craft:

A Pinkalicious wand table:
Rainbow Fish stickers and coloring page table:
A Photobooth with props to help everyone become characters from their favorite books:
And my personal favorite, the Dr. Seuss Cafe:
with Green “eggs” and “ham” (pretzels, melted white chocolate chips and green m&ms):
Cat In the Hat cookies (oreos, marshmallows and red gummy lifesavers):
And One Fish Two Fish Red Fish goldfish! (rainbow Goldfish crackers):
We let the kids choose what they wanted to do first and let the chaos begin! I had my teen helpers workthe photo booth camera and they did a great job capturing the insanity:
We did a quiz to remember all the items in Goodnight Moon that we said “goodnight” to and read the Very Hungry Caterpillar and did a quiz on what food he ate.
We played a few more games and quizzes and everyone left tired and happy!
Lots of fun was had by all! Thanks to all the volunteers!
