I created this mandala to represent how life can be perceived as a series of patterns and repetitions. These trends where events rise and fall over prolonged periods may lead to breakthrough ideas, such as developing cures for diseases by analyzing a similar prior disease.

The novel Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen McManus was quite possibly the best mystery novel I have ever read. This novel is about a set of twins who are living with their Grandmother, after their mom got sent to rehab. There are a lot of mysterious events that take place in this new town, including the disappearance of teen girls. The twins, Ellery and Ezra, decide to find out what or who is the cause of these mysterious events. The characters in this book were developed, without giving away the ending. Furthermore, the plot was captivating and well-thought out. I would definitely give this book 5 stars out of 5!

Great review, thanks! – Mrs. Long

One of Us is Next, by Karen M. McManus, was the recently published sequel to One of Us is Lying. After reading One of Us is Lying, the sequel was a little disappointing to read. It wasn’t as interesting as I expected. The characters from One of Us is Lying did appear in this sequel, but not a lot of the attention was placed on them.

Furthermore, the new characters weren’t developed as completely as the original 4 from One of Us is Lying. The plot at the beginning of the story is a little unfocused because it seems as if there are two mysteries going on at once. However,  later on in the novel, it makes much more sense.

This novel wasn’t as great as the first one, but it was still an enjoyable read, especially for anyone who wanted to know what happened to the original characters. I would give this novel 3.5 stars out of 5.

Father’s Day Origami Cards

We had so much fun making cards last night at the Father’s Day Origami program. All you need is some colored paper, glue, scissors and embellishments of your choosing. Easy enough that even I could do it!

Here are some of the links to the resources we used to make the cards:

Whatever you decide to make, I hope you can celebrate with the dads, grandpas and father-figures in your life (with responsible social distancing!) this upcoming Sunday for Father’s Day! – Mrs. Long
