The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
The Cerulean Chronicles series #1
(2020) 394 pages
This book was recommended to me by my friend a few days ago, and I was able to finish it very quickly. That is because it is quite different from the novels I normally read. This one is about restoring people’s faith in humanity, and finding love within trauma. At first I wasn’t quite interested in it, but I decided to read it so my friend and I child discuss it together. Obviously that was a good choice. It might seem like just a magical story at first, but it has so much life lessons and truth embedded within its pages that really makes you stop and think about it for a moment or two. There are many quotes in this story I genuinely enjoyed so much, and it made my heart tinge with both warmth and joy. Everything about this book is homely and just feels like a warm hug, especially when you’ve had to spend the last few weeks reading heartbreaking stories for your AP Language & Composition class. Overall this book is for anyone who wishes for a story that will help them feel comfort and as though they’re receiving a warm hug from its words.
