Apocalypse Now (1979)
Rated r, 2 hours 27 minutes
Apocalypse Now is a movie based in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The main character is Captain Willard and he is given orders to hunt down and kill a colonel who has gone rogue. As the movie develops, he meets many unique characters and he faces the horrors of war both in physical and mental ways. Eventually he finds the colonels and kills him but as the movie ends, Captain Willard seems to be in disbelief of the entire mission and seems mentally scarred from the war.
Apocalypse Now is a captivating movie that truly depicts the horrors of war and the terrible things that can happen during war. The movie is brilliantly filmed and while watching the movie, I truly felt the aura of the Vietnam War. The different characters show us how the war brought all sorts of people together to fight under one cause. However, there were many disturbing scenes that made me realize the price of war and the horrors of war. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone that is interested in war and the effects war has on people. I would rate this movie a (7.5/10)
