Movie Review by Kyle C.

Deadpool (2016)
Rated R, 1 hour 48 minutes

To start things off, the movie Deadpool is in the same timeline and universe as the X-men and there are characters of X-men that appear in the movie. Deadpool is about a man named Wade WIlson who becomes an unkillable superhero. In the beginning he is just a normal man but then meets a girl named Vanessa and they fall in love. However Wade is diagnosed with late stage cancer and to save Vanessa from heartbreak, he sneaks out one night and meets with a man named Ajax who said he can save him. Instead, Ajax forces Wade into submission and tortures him for weeks. Eventually some of the injections that were given to Wade turned him into a superhero with regeneration and athletic ability. But at a cost; his entire body is now deformed. After escaping from Ajax, he makes a suit and calls himself Deadpool. He, with the help of some of his “friends”, hunts down Ajax and kills him. By the end of the movie, he reveals himself to Vanessa who accepts him for who he is and the movie ends.

Deadpool is exactly what an action comedy movie is all about. There is lots of dark humor in the movie and is a great “palette cleanser” for movies. Deadpool is an extremely likable character partly because Ryan Reynolds did a phenomenal job acting as him in the movie. The storyline is great and the action sequences are top notch. I personally greatly enjoyed this movie and I would rate it a (9/10)
