Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Rated PG-13, 2 hour 10 minutes
Top Gun Maverick is a movie about Pete Mitchell (Maverick) overcoming his past to teach students to complete a deadly mission in enemy territory. The movie begins with Maverick crashing a very expensive plane after pushing it to the limit in a test he wasn’t allowed to run. As a “punishment”, he is sent to Top Gun, a flight school for the best jet fighter pilots. There he is given the task of teaching a group of students and picking out a few of those students to complete a near impossible mission to destroy enemy resources. During this time, he faces many challenges. His best friend dies and throughout the movie, he tries to build a relationship with Goose who doesn’t trust Maverick because in the past, Maverick escaped a plane crash but Goose’s father didn’t. He wants to protect Goose but he doesn’t want Goose to hate him for not sending him to the mission. Eventually, Maverick, Goose, and two others go on the mission. The two others survive but Maverick and Goose’s planes crash deep in enemy territory. The two team up and hijack an old enemy plane and eventually they make it back safe. The movie ends with Maverick befriending Goose and staying with his partner Penny.
Top Gun: Maverick is such a great movie for all ages. This movie is all about family and togetherness and I feel like anyone can truly enjoy this movie. It has a mix of comedy, action, romance, and everything else you could want in a movie starring Tom Cruise among many other accomplished actors. I definitely enjoyed this movie and it’s a movie that makes people feel good. I would rate this movie a (9/10)
