The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Rated PG-13, 2 hours 16 minutes

Peter Parker is a seventeen-year-old student at Midtown High. He secretly has a crush on Gwen Stacy and is frequently bullied by Flash Thompson. His life has been difficult since his parents left him when he was four, and he’s been raised by his aunt and uncle for the past thirteen years. Peter is curious about his past and why his parents left, so when he finds his father’s briefcase, he learns that his dad worked at Oscorp with Dr. Curtis Connors, a brilliant scientist. Determined to get answers, Peter visits Oscorp, where a spider bite grants him spider-like powers. One day, tragedy strikes when Peter’s uncle is murdered by a shoplifter. This event pushes Peter to use his powers for good, and he becomes Spider-Man. His relationship with Connors is complicated when he discovers Connors’ alter-ego, the Lizard, who has plans to infect the city. Peter must now fight the Lizard to protect the people of New York.

This movie is one of my childhood favorites and has everything one could want in a superhero movie. Andrew Garfield executes his role as Spider Man excellently and this movie has plenty of action, romance, and mystery. This is a movie I would recommend to anyone. (8.5/10)
