Our Second Teen Open Mic Night!

Where can you hear Celine Dion’s music played by a flute, violin and piano quartet followed by impressions of the Simpsons characters, interspersed with some original poetry, the music of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and topped off with a Jason Mraz sing-a-long grand finale? At the Syosset Public Library, of course! A very fun and entertaining night was had by all who attended Syosset Public Library’s second Teen Open Mic Night on Friday, December 5. Over two dozen teens, performing both individually and in small groups, showcased their various musical talents, comedic impressions and original poetry for a packed house of friends and family. We had such a great turnout from both the performers and the audience members who came out to support them that the festivites probably could have continued into the wee hours of the morning. Thanks again to Ted Tiller and the Teen Advisory Board for their help and support. Stay tuned for more teen events to come!
