Teen Video Game reviewer-Raymond G.

Roblox – An online multiplayer game created by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel in 2004 and released in 2006. What makes the game so popular and stand out is its ability where players can create anything they want with their own imagination and play the game they have created. The game also features all kinds of genres such as Roleplaying, RPG, First Person Shooter, Building and more.

My Experience: My experience with the game overall is great, you get to meet new people online and play with friends across the globe. You also get to experience games created here that you won’t get anywhere else. I was able to explore all kinds of games never seen before. Players of this game can also buy robux which is the currency system of the game and customize their own characters with items from the shop which you buy for robux.

Currency System: Roblox features an interesting currency system where creators of the game can earn in-game currency called robux which can be converted into USD.

(The shop where players can buy items to customize their avatar)

Downside: Not every game is perfect which now comes with the downside of Roblox. Roblox games tend to be badly optimized which can make some games very laggy and bring down users enjoyment, Roblox also has players who hack which makes them having an advantage over other players making things unfair for other players and ruining their enjoyment and experience with the games.

My Rating: 8/10

A Year of Rainbows and Raindrops

Next month marks the 1 year anniversary of going into quarantine for COVID-19. I will never forget how it felt, on Friday, March 13, 2020, learning school would be cancelled, the library would be closing, and life as we knew it, would be different.

In an effort to see the positive side of this “new normal,” I had the idea to make a rainbow window display. Why rainbows? Well, one of the first things everyone did in quarantine was decorate their windows and doors with rainbows. It was unifying and colorful and brought some cheer. The idea to add raindrops, well, we know this past year hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows; it’s been tough. We should acknowledge all we have lost.

And shamrocks? Our library director suggested it at a meeting and to me, it’s the perfect spring representation of luck, hope, a green new start.

So I ask of you to help by choosing the following:

Choose a heart to add to our rainbow window display and tell us what silver linings this past year has brought.

Choose a raindrop and tell us the challenges you faced.

Or pick a shamrock to tell us what you are hopeful for.

Together, we will make a beautiful window display!

Paper cutouts are currently available in TeenSpace and will be elsewhere in the building starting March 1.
